# Borrow Fee Rebates

Borrow Fee Rebates let qualified borrowers claim back a portion of the interest paid on their Dolomite borrow positions. Borrowers can claim a rebate of up to **10% of borrow interest paid,** claimable in the **same asset** as the interest. Eligibility is based on the veDOLO voting weight held by the borrowing wallet.

{% hint style="info" %}
Borrow Fee Rebates launched as a **phased rollout beginning with Berachain**. For now, only borrowing on Berachain is eligible.
{% endhint %}

Rebates are claimed after the borrowing takes place. Rebates do **not** change the quoted borrow APR shown when you open or manage a position. You pay interest normally, then claim the rebate.

## How it works

Each weekly claim period, the protocol tracks the borrow interest you paid on eligible positions. At the end of the period, you can claim a rebate of up to **10% of that interest**, paid in the same asset. USDC interest earns a USDC rebate; WBTC interest earns a WBTC rebate.

How much of that 10% you can claim depends on the veDOLO voting weight behind your borrowing wallet:

* **Full rebate** — veDOLO voting weight worth at least **5x** the total annualized rebate value, across all assets.
* **Below 5x** — the rebate scales proportionally. There are no tiers and no cliffs.
* **No veDOLO** — no rebate.

{% hint style="info" %}
Claim periods run weekly and reset **Thursday at around 00:15 UTC**, matching the oDOLO rollover.
{% endhint %}

## Rebate scaling

The 5x threshold is measured against the annualized value of your total maximum rebate, so it scales with your own borrowing. Smaller borrowers need a smaller veDOLO position to capture their full rebate; larger borrowers need a proportionally bigger one.

| Qualifying veDOLO (% of 5x threshold) | Rebate captured |
| ------------------------------------- | --------------- |
| 100%                                  | 100% of maximum |
| 75%                                   | 75% of maximum  |
| 50%                                   | 50% of maximum  |
| 25%                                   | 25% of maximum  |
| 0%                                    | No rebate       |

## Examples

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Full rebate" %}
A borrower pays **$200 in USDC** borrow interest on Berachain during a weekly claim period.

* Maximum weekly rebate: **$20 USDC** (10% of $200)
* Annualized rebate value: $20 × 52 = **$1,040**
* veDOLO voting weight needed for the full rebate: 5 × $1,040 = **$5,200**
* Value of veDOLO vote weight: veDOLO vote weight × market price of DOLO

With $5,200 or more of veDOLO voting weight behind the borrowing wallet, the full **$20 USDC** is claimable.

If you are borrowing multiple assets, the required veDOLO voting power is based on your total rebate across all assets.
{% endtab %}

{% tab title="Partial rebate" %}
Same borrower, same **$200** of weekly USDC interest, but the borrowing wallet has **$2,600** of veDOLO voting weight — half of the $5,200 threshold.

* Claimable rebate: 50% of the $20 maximum = **$10 USDC**
  {% endtab %}
  {% endtabs %}

Examples are illustrative. The app is where you can find the amounts, eligible positions, claim periods, and available rebates for your wallet.
{% endhint %}

## veDOLO voting weight

Rebate eligibility uses the same time-decaying voting weight as veDOLO governance.

* DOLO can be locked for up to **2 years** to create veDOLO.
* More time remaining on the lock means more voting weight. As a lock approaches maturity, its weight decays to 0.
* Holding veDOLO by itself does **not** create a rebate. The wallet must also pay eligible borrow interest during the claim period.

## Wallet structure and delegation

Qualifying veDOLO voting weight can come from veDOLO held by the borrowing wallet **or** from voting weight delegated to it. This matters for users — including companies and institutions — that separate treasury wallets from trading wallets: veDOLO locks can sit in one wallet while a different wallet borrows.

{% hint style="info" %}
veDOLO delegation is **address-level**. A wallet that owns multiple veDOLO lock NFTs delegates all of those locks together. To point different locks at different borrowing wallets, the locks need to be held by separate owner wallets and delegated separately.
{% endhint %}

## Claiming rebates

Rebates are claimed on the **Rewards page** at [app.dolomite.io/rewards](https://app.dolomite.io/rewards). \
\
The page shows the veDOLO voting weight behind your wallet, your total DOLO locked, your total weekly rebate, and your overall rebate progress toward the full amount. Each eligible asset is listed separately with the amount borrowed, that week's rebate, and the amount currently claimable.&#x20;

{% hint style="warning" %}
Launch note: For the first week after launch, claiming is disabled. Your rebates still accrue and are visible on the Rewards page right away; the Claim button activates after the first weekly period closes.
{% endhint %}

<figure><img src="/files/FOF4s7lFsXxq4jRj28N3" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

1. Go to [app.dolomite.io/rewards](https://app.dolomite.io/rewards).
2. Connect the wallet that holds the borrow positions.
3. Review the claimable rebate for each eligible asset.
4. Click **Claim** on the asset you want to collect.
5. Confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Each asset is claimed in the same asset you borrowed — USDC interest pays a USDC rebate, HONEY interest pays a HONEY rebate.

{% hint style="info" %}
Claimable amounts on the Rewards page update every **Thursday at roughly 00:15 UTC**, just after the weekly period resets at 00:00 UTC. Unclaimed rebates **do not expire** — you can let them accumulate and claim later.
{% endhint %}

## What rebates are not

* **Not a rate discount.** The quoted borrow APR is the same for everyone; rebates are claimed after interest is paid.
* **Not automatic.** Rebates must be claimed through the app.
* **Not retroactive.** Only interest paid after the first epoch counts.
* **Not a separate reward token.** Rebates are paid in the same asset as the borrow interest.

## FAQ

<details>

<summary>Do rebates lower my borrow APR?</summary>

No. Borrowers pay interest normally, then claim eligible rebates afterward. The rebate reduces your effective borrow cost, not the quoted rate.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What is the maximum rebate?</summary>

10% of eligible borrow interest paid during the claim period.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What do I need to receive the full rebate?</summary>

Qualifying veDOLO vote weight worth at least 5x the total annualized rebate value, held by or delegated to the borrowing wallet. Below that threshold, the rebate scales proportionally.

</details>

<details>

<summary>When can rebates be claimed?</summary>

Claim periods run weekly and reset Thursday at around 00:15 UTC. Rebates accumulate and do not need to be claimed every week.

Note: for the first week after launch, claiming is disabled — rebates still accrue and are visible in the app, and the Claim button activates after the first weekly period closes.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do unclaimed rebates expire?</summary>

No. Unclaimed rebates do not expire.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Are rebates retroactive?</summary>

No. Interest paid before the launch of the rebates program does not generate rebates.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Which chains are eligible?</summary>

The phased rollout begins on Berachain. For now, only borrow positions on Berachain are eligible.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Does delegated veDOLO count?</summary>

Yes. A veDOLO-holding wallet can delegate its voting weight to the borrowing wallet. Delegation is address-level, so all veDOLO lock NFTs held by the delegating wallet move together.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Where did this feature come from?</summary>

Borrow Fee Rebates were approved by Dolomite governance: [DIP-03](https://app.beravote.com/space/dolomite/proposal/Qmf8g1bSXTnF1fxzxbstNRvyVvB7BqNKonnCzE19cy3dn9) passed in Q4 2025 with 4.89M veDOLO voting in favor.
